What does "nothing happens" mean?
Does the DVD drive react to the insertion of the disk at all?
If yes, open Windows Explorer and right click the drive holding the DVD.
On the menu that appears, you have several options to work with:

Autoplay - will autoplay disk with designated movie player program.

Properties - another screen appears with a page that lets you change the
autoplay settings for disks with various content types.

Playing dvds on a cd isnt so easy....1st,you need the software to playback
with WMP,the software includes user rights,encoder,etc...WM home page list
some 3rd party software for dvd use, while dvd software can be obtained free
with ati video cards, its available...It all goes back few years ago, everyone
related to the movie people want a piece of the action (money).....You might
try http://www.downloads.com For free software...

Are you sure you have a DVD drive nad not just CD?
