Whenever I try and open a new window of internet explorer, I get the black
command prompt screen and the following message:

"C:\windows\temp\search~1\run.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.ntt The system file is not suitable for running
MS DOS and microsoft windows apps. Choose close to terminate the application"

Can anyone help me with this? I'd very appreciate it.

Yes, I used some software you can download from the internet. When I do this,
it appears to find the same problems each time, but it never corrects them.

If you're really serious about preventing spyware from getting onto your
computer - and you need to be if you value your security and privacy - then
"some software you can download from the internet" is not going to be of any
value. You need full-time spyware monitoring and you need to have at least
two anti-spyware programs installed on your computer.

However, no amount of software will protect you if you are not observing
safe practices while on the Internet, which is probably why the spyware
keeps coming back.

There are three things you need to do:

1. Get rid of the spyware on your computer. Every last bit of it. Spyware is
like Dracula: It rises from the dead to suck your blood.

2. Install anti-spyware software.

3. Learn how to be safe while on the Internet.

Microsoft has created a really good introduction to combatting spyware,
which you can find here:
