Problem opening files in Powerpoint 2000

I keep getting this message "PowerPoint found an error
that it can't correct. You should save presentations,
quit, and then restart powerpoint."

I cannot open any powerpoint files. Is there a way to
correct this? I have already tried remob=ving and re-
installing the software.

Have you installed all the relative service packs from MS?
