I have two servers on the same network i.e. 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2
subnet 255.255.255.0. I can ping and see both servers in my network places
from each machine. Each server has AD installed and are separate domains.
The next procedure that takes place is on server A in my network places I
double click on entire network, then double click on Microsoft Windows
Network. Inside there I have two icons one for Server A and one for server
B.
If I double click on server B icon I get a prompt to enter user name and
password. After entering user name, password and clicking on ok button it
tells
me it is incorrect password or unknown user name, although I know it is
correct.
If I do the same from Server B, but double click Server A icon it lets me
connect
to server A, which is fine.
Therefore, I can from server B connect to Server A using My Network Places,
but
cannot connect to Server B from Server A. Does this make any sense to
anybody?
