Problem loading media player 10 in Windows XP

I am running windows XP home edition.

I have been trying to install media player 10 and I keep getting the
message, "the software you are installing has not passed Windows logo testing
to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. the software will not be
installed.

This is very weird as this download is from Microsoft. Has anyone else had
this problem and does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this?
