Hi,
I have been searching Google for installation problem with the STOP:
0x0000006F error.
It seems to me that it all points to the SATA hardware in the motherboard.
I am trying to update one of the computers running Windows ME to XP with the
XP Update CD. I first try to boot from the CD and try to reformat the hard
disk with ME in it. However, if I try this, I will get the 0x6F error. On
the other hand, if I boot into ME first, and then run the update through ME,
I will not have any Stop Error. However, installing XP on top of an
existing 98 or ME computer takes a lot of effort to remove old programs and
drivers.
Is there any way I can do a clean install using the XP Update CD? or do I
really need the XP Full Version CD?
or better yet, is there a solution to solve this 0x6F problem?
The motherboard I have in this computer is an ASUS P4P800.
