Problem installing Word on W2K

I've just reinstalled W2K and Office. I also updated the programs - all
security patches and service packs.

Excel seems to work ok, but Word closes down as soon as I type anything.

Thanks for any suggestions.

After win2k reinstall you installed mobo chipset drivers and other hw
drivers, NOT from winupdate?

You've run Detect/Repair in office?

What is the error message? If the faulting file is Winword.exe,
then look in the [d:]\Office2k\Startup folder. Delete all of the
*.dot template files that are located in there.
