I have myself a new 6800XL card to replace my X300.

But when I get install the 6800 card I get one short text screen at
boot them blank and no activity from the PC.

Putting the X300 back all is fine.

the disk that came with the new card just says plug it in then install
the drivers.

What have a I missed? or have got a dead card?

Thanks
Kevin K.

Soudns like a defective card. Get it exchanged. Hopefully you won't get
another bad one.

The graphic card might has :-

1) compatible problem with the motherboard.

2) the card are faulty.

You HAVE to first Uninstall the previously used driver. ATI and Nvidia
drivers will NOT quietly co-exist.
