Problem installing HP 4180 All in one

Hi i have been going around with this printer trying to install now for about
3 weeks. When i am trying to install the software it makes it to the point
where it says connect the printer now. When i do so, the system recognizes
the printer and brings up the windows wizard. I click next and an error
message comes up saying there was a problem installing HP c4180 (usbhub) "The
required section was not found in the INF". I went through with hp and they
said it was a windows problem. I tried following thier online help page

but it didnt work, so as a last resort i reinstalled Xp pro sp2 and still
nothing. Please help i need a printer to work. I know it is not the hardware
or drivers for the usb ports because everything else works except this
printer!
 
Are you using a USB hub connected to your PC? Plug the printer in to
a USB port on the back of your PC, not a hub and try again. Some USB
hubs are powered and some are not.
Note: When you have several USB devices connected to your PC using the
USB ports, the system does not have sufficient power to activate them.
Most printers are powered USB devices.
 
No i am just using the one that is attached to the back of my computer, but i
have 4 of them, i dont know if that matters. Would you suggest me buying a
powered hub?
 
No. The hub on the back of your PC is powered by your system.
If you have 4 ports, try each one of them for the one you are using
may be at fault (not working). Also, during the installation process,
when you connect the printer to the PC make sure it is NOT powered on.
You'll get a prompt when to turn it on. You can also go to the HP website
and download the current drivers (42.74Mb) for your printer and use them
to install the printer. It is very possible that the installation disk you
have
may be corrupt or have corrupt files on it.
