problem installing database engine

I am having trouble installing the database engine on a computer at
the moment. it always stops at the same point (with 2 seconds left on
the progress bar) and tells me to look at the log file to figure out
whats wrong, but the log file is huge and searching for 'error' and
similar terms don't help me find whats wrong. does anyone have some
suggestions or is it better for me to post the log?

What log you are reffering to?
If you have too big Event Viewer log (Application, System?), please clean it up before the installation and analyze after.
