Hi,
I purchased an All-In_Wonder 7500 AGP, and installed it on w98 with
softwares downloaded from ATI (Hydravision not installed).
In desktop settings, just to be on the safe side, I defined the second
monitor as "standard display, Plug-and-play". I did not activated this no 2
display device. I assumed that the activation would have been mandatory if I
would have installed a PCI display card in addition to the 7500 AGP. I
basically don't intend to use 2 monitors, while the 7500 would have the
capacity to handle that.
I assumed wrongfully that it would have corrected the system startup ?Bug?.
- In starting up the system
- a first screen (general user profile) is displayed
- windows password screen appears
- overlayed suddenly by an error window
"the program will be stop, non conform operation performed"
details " ATI2S9AG caused a page fault in module <unknown> at
"0000:825d489c"
- closed the error window, and keyed in the password for the profile
Richard
- windows finalize correctly the startup procedure for the profile
Richard
1- Can I install the 7500 AIW AGP without an extra display card (PCI) for a
second monitor?
2- If I don't install a second card, will I be able to display the desktop
screen on the television?
2- Main question: What is/are the cause of the start-up problem and how do I
fix it?
- I ran the "run test" in ATI multimedia center configuration (2 devices
not using dma (HD, CD).
- only the ATI CD music player works fine.
- the installation went on the ussumption of a "France" PAL? codecs, but
I changed manualy thereafter "US" NTSC
- cannot play .avi and .wmv existing files with ATI player
- cannot see TV
Help will be appreciated!
