Hi ppl!

I'm having the following problem with my XP Professional, which I'm
sure any of you can help me with. It will only take a minute or so...

When I open the 'User Accounts' from 'Control Panel', I always get the
Win2000 style user accounts window (like if I would run 'control
userpasswords2'). I'm not able to revert to the new 'User Accounts' in
XP, where I can place the picture for my user or so...

How can I change/fix this? Any idea?

Thanks in advance,
Nuno

Exactly the same as if you would run 'control userpasswords2'.

Thanks in advance,
Nuno

Yes, most of the time it is

The most odd thing is that this computer is newly installed and at the beggining, it worked just fine. Now, I can't find a way of making it show the new 'User Accounts' for XP

Thanks in advance

Please quote the post you are replying to.

Thank you.

Was it joined to the domain, when it was working? I don't have a domain setup here, so I can't verify whether the new User Accounts screen works in a domain setup or not.

I think that machines that log on to a domain use the old W2K style log-on
box - certainly here they do and my Wife's laptop that logs on locally to a
domain also uses that log-on box.

Yes, it was joined a domain when it was working! Still then, I used to have another pc connected to a domain and I could access the new User Accounts as it should

The problem is not related to the old logon box. What you mentioned is right, but the question has to do with the 'User Accounts' in Control Panel, which always appear as the old win2000 style! And I know this is not right, because I've seen the other way around before
