Jesper

Somehow Internet Explorer started opening my texteditor for viewing txt
files, instead of just showing them in the browser. This is really enoying.
The only way I can make it stop that, is by removing the file associaltion
for txt files completely in folder options, but then I have no program
associated with txt files, so it's not a solution.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

Thanks,
Jesper

Hi Jesper,

Try this: in Windows Explorer: Tools, Folder Options, File Types, TXT,
Advanced, uncheck [ ] Confirm after download.

Kind regards

Thanks, but already tried and it makes no difference.

Jesper I was wondering about that, it makes no difference here either but I
don't have the problem you do so I was trying to cause it! <g>

FWIW here are my settings.

The "OPEN" setting points to [path]/notepad.exe %1 with no quotes around any
of it.

There's a couple of things like PRINT and PRINTTO in there also.

OPEN is set as default (Wasn't before, I changed that but no difference

Confirm open after download is checked (But that makes no difference here
either)

I checked it on this page

http://home.mchsi.com/~resident.resident/faq/oe6readme.txt

which I know for a fact is simply a notepad created file and it opens in
explorer as expected

So sorry I can't help but it's looking like a registry setting maybe?

Charlie.
