Recently, every time I quit MS Outlook I get "Microsoft
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We
are sorry for the incovenience." The following appears
in the Error Signature: AppName:outlook.exe; AppVer:
10.0.4510.0; ModName: mso.dll; ModVer: 10.0.4219.0;
Offset: 000f5890; Exception Code: 0x0000087c.

What do I need to do to rectify this problem?

Do you have the latest service packs for Outlook installed?

I do not know if I need any "outlook service packs to be
installed." I constantly use Windows XP to scan for and
install any critical updates or service packs that are
identified. I do not have any critical updates or
service packs that need to be installed.

I am not familiar about any other way to determine if I
need to install some Outlook critical updates or service
packs.

Try going to Help | Office on the Web (or something like that) in Outlook
and see if it offers you any updates or service packs to install.
