Problem editing queries

I have an odd problem trying to edit queries in the query grid.

What happens is, often Access will not let me click on various parts of the
grid. For example, sometimes when I want to order the results by one of the
fields, I won't be able to click into the sort box below the field name.
When this happens I can usually click into the field name box and then
arrow-down to the sort box. At the moment I want to delete a field from the
query, but Access won't let me click on the field 'header' that hilights the
field and lets you delete it from the results.

Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

I am using Access XP with sp3.

Thanks

Fred

That is strange. First I would try taking the database to another computer
and seeing if the same behavior happens there. If it does not, they your
computer may have a video problem, Office install problems, or maybe even
something like a virus or spyware running.

If it happens on the other computer also, check if there is something else
happening by doing press the Alt + Tab keys to see if something like a
warning may be running in the background.

Next I'd wonder if there is something running in Access. Do you have
anything running on a Timer? Try starting up the database while holding down
the Shift key as that will stop things from starting up that you might not
see.
