Long story short, my two-drive RAID 0 setup crashed this evening in a bizzare
event and now I'm trying to do a clean install.

I have ditched the RAID set up and only have ONE hard drive connected.
Everything goes smooth in the windows set-up, a did a full format of the
drive, it copies the files to the drive and then I reboot... but then.....
nothing.. It doesnt boot up the Windows setup, only the option to boot back
up through the CD.....

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would try starting the setup CD to press R for 'repair' and go to the
Recovery Console Prompt. There are several commands that may at least tell
you something.

fixmbr

fixboot

bootcfg

edit boot.ini
