I'd appreciate it if someone could help me with my dilema. I'm trying to
download Windows XP Service pack 2 but when i hit the tab i get the following
message and then nothing happens....?
'Checking for the latest version of the Windows Update software...
Depending on your connection speed, this might take a minute. During this
time, you may receive one or more security warnings. Review each security
warning to ensure that the content is signed by Microsoft, and then click
Install or Yes to install the software.'

Could it be my security settings?

Hi

Fyi, microsoft.public.windowsupdate is a better newsgroup for
Windows Update questions.

You could try the steps in this post to try to get WU to work:

http://groups.google.com/[email protected]

If nothing there worked, try the steps in this post:

If that didn't work either, check that WuWebControlClass is enabled in
Internet Explorer:

.Think twice about downloading this right now. It has a
lot of glitches that can mess up other systems. This is
according to a computer engineer.
