Hello all

Please help me for this error in DNS:

"The DNS server was unable to open Active Directory. This DNS server is
configured to obtain and use information from the directory for this zone
and is unable to load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory
is functioning properly and reload the zone. The event data is the error
code. "

Thank you for your help

You didn't indicate if this was working and now isn't or if it ever worked
properly, but could be that your security logs are full or a permissions
issue. Look at the following to see if they match;
316685 Active Directory-Integrated Domain Name Is Not Displayed in DNS
Snap-in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=316685

305837 DNS, Intersite Messaging, Global Catalog, NTFRS, and "Invalid

This also sounds like a 5781 error (unfortunately the poster didn't provide
this information).

If it is, maybe it would be very helpful for us if Mostafa can provide us
with:

1. An undedited ipconfig /all
2. The AD DNS domain name (as it shows up in the ADUC console).
3. How many DCs exists in the domain
4. What service pack level the machine(s) are up to.

Thanks
