Julie

Can someone please tell me how to disable "internet
connection sharing" on the client pc? I no longer have the
ICS server PC and need to use the internal modem on the
client. Every time I try to dial out, it tries to reach
the remote computer. The Microsoft site shows only the
procedure for disabling on the host machine. Thank you
very much.

In
Change the IP address of the client to reflect the new network it's
on. If not sure of the network, then we need a little more
documentation on your configuration. I'm only able to see this reply
and not the original post, so I'm not able to read back into it to
gather more info.

Sorry Julie, I thought there was another post leading to this.
Awaiting your answer for your configuration.

The client PC was connected to a laptop (host) with ICS
enabled on the host machine (laptop). The laptop is gone
forever, therefore I cannot use my modem because it gives
error about remote connection failed. It's still trying to
use that other remote connection, I suppose. My pc is set
to "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS
automatically". Thank you for your help. Also, I have
disabled and uninstalled the LAN connection since I am no
longer a part of a network.

Thank you very much for your help. I appreciate your ideas
and will try this in the morning. Have a great
day...umm...night!

Julie
