I have a drop-down list that was working fine in Excel 2003. Then my computer
was upgraded to Excel 2007. And while, I like Excel 2007, there are some
quirks when working in a spreadsheet that originated in 2003 (or if other
people who have 2003 are using).

Here's my problem. The drop-down list that I created through Data
Validation, only shows the heading of the list when I click on the arrow to
select from the drop-down box. There are no other options available. But when
I right-click the cell and choose "Pick from drop-down list" from the
shortcut menu, it points to the correct list; but this setting doesn't stay
on the cell. If I click off the cell and click back on it, I still get only
the heading of the list in the drop-down list and start over again.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,

Just a possibility - select the cell and choose Data, Validation and check
the Source range. If the range is a name you could have a problem in 2007 if
the name were something like LST4 because that is not a valid cell address
and 2007 would convert the name to something like _LST4 but in the Source box
it might still be the old name ie. a cell address.

Shane:
Thank you. I checked that before I posted and, yes, it points to the correct
named range, and I verified that the named range is still valid.

Any other suggestions?
