When I copy and paste controls from one form to another (which is a tabbed
page) all the fields contain #Name?
Wot's going wrong?
Thanks

When Access displays "#Name" in a control, it's saying that it can't find
the field that the control has as a control source.

So, if you start with form1, based on table1, then copy a textbox from that
form to form2, based on table2, I'm guessing table2 doesn't have the same
fields as table1...

Thanks Jeff, understood.
For ease of understanding say I have table 1 and form 1, and table 2 and
form 2.
I want to have a tabbed page on form 1, containing controls based on table 2.
I thought that since I have a relationship between the two tables, I would
be OK simply copying the design of form 2 into the tabbed page of form 1.
Doesn't look like it though.
How do I do this??
As an alternative I suppose I could add all the fields into one huge table
but I thought I had heard that this was not a good idea. What is the sensible
maximum of fields in a table?

Don't stick fields together in a table just to have them together ... that's
what queries are for!

I don't understand the relationship between the two tables, so I'm at a loss
for suggesting a way to display the two tables' data, in their proper
relationship.

You're trying to use a tab control? Why? Are there so many different
"groups"/"categories" of data that you need to separate them on different
tab pages?
