I am running Windows Vista Basic edition on a 2-year-old Dell. For at
least a year, the newtork icon on the taskbar has shown two computers
with a red x next to them. I have been able to connect wirelessly to
the internet despite this, but now that I am away from home and need
to connect to the internet using an ethernet cable I am unable to do
so. When I go to the network and sharing center, I need to be able to
click on "Local Area Connection" in order to change the properties of
the connection. However, there is nothing for me to click on in the
network and sharing center--there is only a message that says "Unkown,
No such interface supported."
Any help would be greatly appreciated--I need internet as soon as I
can get it. Thanks very much.
