I just got my internet connection yesterday and I started updating some
of my software (I had a connection a couple of years ago, so nothing is
up to date). I installed msn messenger, updated Download Accelerator
Pro (DAP) and Zone Alarm (firewall).
When I updated Zone Alarm I got a message saying that another
installation, update or something was in progress and click ok if you
want to wait for it to finish. I clicked ok, installed ZA, restarted
the computer and the connection died. There was somekind of error in
ZA, "Help" said that I needed to restart my computer to fix it and I
did, with no effect.
Then I decided to uninstall ZA. I had some problems with that,
something avout not being able to shut down TrueVector, but I eventualy
succeded. Still no connection. I uninstalled all programs I'd updated
and still no connection. All the lights on the modem thingy are as they
should be, as they were when I was able to access the internet. I have
no qlue what to do. Any suggestions?
When answering, bear in mind that I am pretty ignorant about computers.
Thanks!
