Problem closing internet explorer on task manager

My internet explorer is still running on my task manager
even when I close it. It causes problems because it will
continue to open up several internet explorers and it
causes my internet to slow down. This just started
happening and I don't know why. I just need it to
completely close off when I exit.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
