Problem closing a slide presentation

Using Win 98 SE, PP 2002

Can view a pps and close it IF it was accessed through the program. However, if accessed through a CD or Windows Explorer it will not close. Tried 'Escape' - does not work. Only way I've been able to close the pps is using
ctrl>alt>del. How can this be corrected?

Jean,

One thing you might check is if the particular slideshow is set to "Kiosk"
mode, under Slideshow| Setup show. That would make it not respond to the
keyboard. Else, if it is happening to multiple files, I don't really know.

Also, maybe check your file registrations in Windows explorer. You see, this
may make the files open in a different way to how PowerPoint handles them
internally:
