When I copy a DRM protected WMA file to audio cd, the
process proceeds normally and takes as long as it should,
but when I check the cd at the end it has only a 1KB file
on it - apparently a shortcut to the original WMA file
on my harddrive. This has only started happening in the
past 24 hours. Any clues anyone?

Your PC has put the music file in memory and is awaiting your response t
copy it to the CD. Go to: Start/My Computer/Properties/Recording ta
Check enable recording to this drive/apply/ok, also click "Open" an
it will show "Files Ready to be Written to CD".

What??

My answer is not to use WMP for burning, I don't understand Byte's take on
it though. Audio CD's are not written through Explorer, thus that doesn't
make sense. Plus no files ever get put in "memory", just are copied to the
temp folder then burned. Nero or Easy CD Creator are much better for
burning and both do DRM-enabled WMA's now.
