My DVD burner was able at one time burn CD's by placing a blank disk into the
drive
and then be directed to an empty drive that I would drop in data and then
burn a CD. I would burn multiple sessions. Now I can not do the above. I have
checked the properties of the drive and there is not a tab to check "Burn
CD's". When I install the Blank media I receve an Error " G:\ Is not
accessible, the function is not supported "I have contacted Microsoft, NEC
the manufacturer, and lastly Dell, which is quickly turning into the worst
support in the industry. Everyone stated it was the other ones fault and I
should contact them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can you still burn DVDs? My combo burner has started
refusing to burn CDs but it still does DVDs just nicely.

I'm trying to figure out why.

I can burn both with third party software. Just can't burn CD's from the
Drive like I used to.

Try this:

Windows Explorer > My Computer > Right click on the drive >
Properties > Recording

Is there a check mark in the box before "Enable CD recording
on this drive"?

Mine somehow got unchecked recently.

No tab "Record" after I open properties.
