I know that this is an old problem, but I have searched this and other fora and tried all of the suggestions there to no avail. What has become clear is that whichever of my two machines starts up first assumes the title of "Master Browser", but for some reason it is "NOT active on domain".
I have made sure that NetBios under TCP/IP is enabled. Each machine can see the other when pinged by both address and name. Drive mapping works both ways without problems. I just can't browse properly.
The second machine fired up has browsing enabled seemingly every time, so can see itself just fine.
I have Kaspersky 7 installed and have shut it down to no effect.
As I said above, I have treid all the suggestions I can find but still have the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If more information is needed it can be supplied.
The outputs from "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" are below.
