Problem after using "Ghost"

Aaron

I installed a second drive(D) of the same capacity as the
first(C) with the intent of using it as a back-up.
I used Symantec "ghost" to make the back up, but soon
found that there appeared confusion when programs were
installed and files were saved. Now I'm not sure which
registry the computer is using (Since there are now 2). I
tried disconnecting each drive one at a time but the
computer will not run without both alive. How can I
correct this, so that I can disconnect one drive and start
a different back-up scheme? BTW I can't even determine
which drive is now the C and which the D. They are
different mfgs but I don't remember and the comuter can't
seem to tell me which is which.
Please help..
Thanks
Aaron

Aaron - I too have continual difficulty with Ghosting. We
had a drive failure in the distance, so we Ghosted to a
new drive, booted the new drive and were on our way.
Until, the user has been unable to connect to printers,
his Outlook has been unable to open his Archive file, and
startup errors are continuous - although easy to eliminate
with StartupCPL.

Have you disabled the secondary drive in the BIOS? If so,
the jumper on the boot drive - set to master or cable
select?

So many questions to ask..

If one drive is alone, does the bios not find the drive or
does windows no assign a drive letter?
