I upgraded to XP Pro from XP Home and now my network card and audio (record
or play) drivers aren't found. When I attempt to create a Internet
connection, I get an error message that no hardware is found. I used my
original recovery disc to load the drivers and went through update drivers
through Device Manager. I keep getting no software found as a result.

Download the latest drive from the manufacture's web site, don't use Windows
Update for drivers.
Next power down the PC, remove the AC power cord and remove both cards. Then
reboot to Windows.
Once again shut down Windows and then insert the cards. Windows should
report that it's found new hardware.
Then install the drivers.

Thier is no upgrade from home to pro,the "upgrade" is for older windows OS.
To install pro from home, one must boot to xp cd,perform a clean
installation.

Sorry, no. XP Pro can be installed as an upgrade over Home.

I have never done it myself, but upgrading Home to Pro is supposed to be the
safest possible upgrade. It's obviously not free of potential problems.

Doing a clean installation of XP Pro could avoid problems, but it's not the
first thing I would try, because of the amount of work involved.

Maybe the original poster needs to remove the soundcard and network card
from Device Manager. I also recommend against using drivers from Windows
Update; better ones are usually available directly from the card
manufacturers.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.

I did a clean install of Pro (reformatted the drive). I used the drivers
from the original recovery disc.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG
