Hope someone can help!
In Windows Vista I often use the option 'stack files by name'.
After installing the update Windows Search 4.0 stacking files by name
does not work any longer. The folders are empty!
I tried uninstalling the update and that works. I believe it
originally is Windows Search 3.1 and the update updates it to 4.0. Anyway, I
can't stand this and also want the update to Windows Search 4.0 to work!
The cause of the problem is the indexing of the Outlook pst files. If
I take Outlook out of the indexing locations there are no problems and
stacking files by name works. If I have Windows Search also index Outlook
the problem occurs.
I have tried the repair option of pst files. This does not solve the
problem. FYI: There is no problem at all with the .pst files in Outlook.
Also, the indexing of Outlook works fine with Windows Search 3.1 and
stacking files by name works properly.
What can I do to fix this? I need the pst files and cannot do without
them. Anyway, is the pst file the problem? With Windows Search 3.1 there are
no problems at all....
Any help is really appreciated!
