Problem after software installation

I was running XP fine until I installed a piece of software. After
installation, I lost all network connections. On insvestigation, I
found that a whole bunch of system drivers are no longer being loaded
during boot up. Uninstalling the software and rolling back the
registry using system restore didn't repair the problem.

Has this behavior been seen before? And what is the best way to repair
the system?

Thanks!

Is there a reason you left out the detail of what the software you installed
was?

It's Simply Accounting Pro 2007 (full installation). Just thought that
I may get a boarder scope of replies if the thinking is not focused on
which software it is.

Thanks.

Is the install d/l or dis?

Why in the world would you think that?
You installed a program and the system went crazy, you ask for help but left
out the most important part and expect to get help. This is not how you seek
help for a problem Phuile.

I think you need to contact them about your problem..
Call 888-522-2722 or perhaps their Support Forums...

Now after trying to help you I find just now you have already posted the
same question at their site. See the link in my sig and the next time you
post a question you will know the proper way to seek help and the fastest
and most reliable answer.

Is the install d/l or dis?

Sorry, I don't know, as I am not an IT person. I am just a user, who
is very puzzled about why this is happening. I don't have a server
system, and I have 2 machines, plugged into a Netgate hub. After I
installed Simply Accounting Pro 2007 on my XP machine, I can't access
the other machine any more, and I can't also access the Internet as
that also goes through the same hub. I installed the software on the
administrator account, but after installation, both accounts cannot
access the other computer. In a way, I have now rolled back the
system, but I still can't get network access.

On boot up, I noticed on the log that a number of drivers didn't load,
one of them being tcpip.sys. I don't know much, but I suspect this may
be the problem. What I'd like some help with, is how best to fix the
system (ignoring the software, Simply Accounting). I will try and re-
install it afterwards.

I have asked in the Simply forum but has not got any replies, I have
also done a live chat with their Support, but they can't help as they
also don't know why this happened. So at the moment, I am aksing in an
XP forum because I thought someone can help me first fix the system,
then I can figure out Simply Accounting.

Thanks for any advise.
