I have two computers hooked up with a home network. One
(host)is connected to the internet and the other is
conected to the host through another network card.
Before I installed the SP2 I was able to access shared
drives, but now I am not even through all the settings on
the drive sharing properties appear to be correctly set.
I continue to get this message " Volume xxx is not
accessible. Contact the administrator of this server to
find out if you have access permissions." As far as I
know, I've granted every access permission I know how to
do.

Help?

Possibly the Windows Firewall?

Try this:
Go into Control Panel
Open Windows Firewall
Make sure that File and Printer Sharing is checked

Let me know if that helps.

Kelli....I have this same problem, too. File sharing and printing have been
checked and double checked. It even goes as far as showing the computer name
on the my networks window, even though it refuses to map the 2 together.
The SP2 update obviously unmapped the computers. I have disabled the
firewall with no luck and my next task will be to uninstall SP2 as
everything worked prior to that update. Do you have any other solutions?

I solved my problem, btw....it was the anti virus software firewall that
prevented the computer from seeing others on the network, so it was
disabled. A router firewall is the first line of defense along with the win
xp firewall, so, to avoid conflicts, I had to disable the anti virus
firewall and I am now a happy camper. Hopefuly it solves someone elses
problem too

Larry, glad you got it working. What antivirus program were you using?
