Have been trying to get into an e-course I have signed up
for via Explorer and it says it is loading it up then it
says its done but it then defaults back to the NTL page
which is my home page. I was getting it last night
without any trouble. It has to be accessed by giving a
name and password, but this does not appear. How can I
fix this.

Hi,
This might be a cache or cookie problem.
Try:
1. Clear the Temporary Internet Files from Internet Options> General.
2. Delete any cookies from that site.
3. If 1 & 2 didn't help, delete the Temporary Internet Files folder. See
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
4. Try disabling (for diagnostic purposes) programs such as firewalls,
anti-virus, other security programs. See if one of the is interfering.

If unsuccessful with those steps, see the many other possibilities at
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers2.htm#secure_sites
and maybe http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#dns

Hope this helps,
Don

Had the same issue as the previous - your fix took care
of it. Thanks. But I have never encountered this before
and I am a moderaately techy person so I know it was not
a concisous act. And the site worked fine this morning.
Any sort of action that causes this to be an issue?

Hi,
If deleting the TIF folder was the fix that worked, I'd explain it as...
Sometimes electrons misbehave .<G> The IE cache is a busy and complex system
of files and folders with data being added constantly and older data being
pushed out. Corruption is likely to happen at some point. It only takes a
damaged file or two. A full or corrupted TIF folder can cause several
problems, such as images not saving in the proper format, view source not
working, files won't download properly.

A common recommendation is to limit the TIF folder to about 50-60 MB and
clear it occasionally.

Hope this helps,
Don
Definitely not an expert on the IE cache ;-)
