I recently found myself in a position that I had to reload XP Home, SP2 on
two different computers. Right now, I connect to the Internet via a wireless
ISP and connect through my laptop. I have Internet Connection Sharing running
on the laptop. I have to add, that because of this wireless, I cannot use my
Router and I am running a Crossover Cable between the two machines. My
problem here is that although the computer connected to my laptop has
internet access, it seems that certain webpage are blocked out (i.e.), The
windows update site and for that matter, any microsoft site. I have also
noticed that AVG will connect for update but the updates themselves are
blocked from downloading. I have checked out the knowledge base and I don't
see this issue listed although I have to admit that connecting vis a
crossover cable is pretty archaic. Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

I thought I posted under general discussion as that is whats in the topic I
have listed

This is not under general discussions NG. The general discussions in this NG
pertain to .Net programming for .Net programmers, like the .Net Framework,
Visual Basic. Net, C#.Net and other .Net programming languages. You need to
find a general discussion NG based on the Windows Operating System that you
are using.

You'll get better results if you post in an appropriate Windows group,
rather
than in this .NET programming group.
To find the group you need, go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...spx?guid=1080912A-26C5-7040-AFDD-2224A4FEB3EA

Then open your language in the TreeView on the left, scroll down to
"Windows", open and scroll down to "Windows XP" and select a
group from that category.
