Hi there this is a weird one and I ran out of ideas.
Until a couple of days ago (Before Microsoft's updates and IE upgrade) I was
able to access my DB from all my workstations by double clicking the shortcut
that pointed to it.
I have 5 Computers all Windows XP Home, my data base is located on one of
the computers. I setup a little workgroup (Home Network) called it office,
shared this DB and I had been working OK with this system for the last year
or so, but now, when I double click on the icon (from any end user's pc) only
one end user can access the DB at the time, in addition to the host pc, only
If the DB in my host pc was started after the wrkstatn's. Then any end user
that double clicks on the Icon gets nothing, nothing happens, I see nothing
happening in the task bar, I see nothing in the network traffic.
Now the workaround I found (Wich as you may know it is not a satisfactory
answer to the client) is to start MSAccess and use the open function, point
to the DB then it will run.
I've re-created new shortcuts, I used UNC and mapped drives, Macro has been
set to Lowest on everyones access I created new certificates, I have no
problems seen the resources in the network. 4 of the MSAccess are 2003 and
one is an XP.
I am also getting this security warning message On the one computer that
could access the DB, and again my macros secutiry have been set to low.
On the computer that has the Windows XP I am getting a message saying
"Microsoft can not access this file:.
This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site ...
I also lowered my intranet security to low.
I tried to fiurnish as much info as I could.
Any one any ideas ???
Thank you
