When I write my formula in the cell then enter to move out, instead of the answer being displayed I see the formula on the sheet. What am I doing wrong. I've tried everything I can think of! Please help........

Try Ctrl-` (above the tab key) and see if that fixes it.

Check that you haven't selected the option to have
formulas appear rather than formula results. Go to the
TOOLS drop-down menu, then to OPTIONS. Select the VIEW
table and make sure that there is NOT a check next to
FORMULAS in the Windows Options section.

Good luck!

Possibly the cells are pre-formatted as Text.

Select the cells and format to General.

F2 and Enter to change to valid formulas.

If you have many to change, select them and format as General then while still
selected, Edit>Replace

what: =
with: =

Replace all.

You are preceding the formula with an equals sign aren't you?
