Probably A stupid question. . .

I am trying to remove the little list of all previous searches that
pops up after you type a few letters into a Google search, for example.
If there is a way to do this without doing something like reformatting
my hard drive, I would appreciate any assistance. Thank you for your
time.

In Internet Explorer select Tools>Internet Options then go to the Content
Tab and the Auto Complete button. From there you can Clear Forms and Clear
Passwords.
 
If you have the Google toolbar, click the little down arrow
next to the word Google [just to the left of the address
window] and you'll see a clear Google search option.

This is not cleared by the IE temp being cleared.
