I've lost the application in the "file types" that is used
to 'print to file'. I inadvertently had the check box
for "always use this..." checked when I tried to open the
file in IE. I'm using winME with an hp970 printer. I've
tried using restore but have to go back some time before
it will work - so, would rather not do this. I've looked
on internet for help, but nothing seems to make sense. Is
this something that requires re-installing the printer?
Or, does anyone know what application I can associate with
this feature?
Thanks,
Jack Burman

When you select print from any application or use "ctrl-p"
the printer dialog box appears showing the name of the
default printer. Just below the name of the printer look
for a check box for printing to file. To get a cleaner
text file you may want to add a generic text printer to be
used for printing to a file.
If you only want text in the file, saving as *.txt will
produce an even cleaner file than printing to pile.
