Dear Colleagues,
I made a mistake today on my laptop and inadvertently made my files
"private" when I created a password prior to travelling. I then found
I could not access my files from my PC over my network.
The option was offered immediately after password creation and I
clicked the wrong option. There seems no way to reverse it generally.
Both the laptop and the PC have XP (home)
I have tried setting the sharing options in the "root" folder; the
"Documents and Setttings" folder; and in my own "peter" folder.
However with "peter" the options for private and shared are both
ticked and both greyed out so I cannot change them.
One final point: in attempting to access from the PC, I am now refused
access to my network: double clicking its name gives a rejection "no
access" message . The network was set up on the PC and I cannot even
see the PC itself, let alone the laptop!
Any solution to this problem would be much appreciated please.
