Ben

I need to make some of my folders private.
Going through the help section on my pc, it's telling me
I need to convert my C: drive from FAT32 to NTFS.
I've managed to make it most of the way through the
procedure in the command prompt, but I have to stop where
it asks me, " Enter current volume label for drive C:".
My help section mentions nothing of this. Any help would
be greatly appreciated as to where I can find this
information or exactly what this means.
Thanx in advance !!

Hopefully you're still around JJ.....
I did leave it blank....hit 'enter'....and the msg "an
incorrect volume label was entered for this drive"
I also went to the recommended site....and the prompts
shown there never came on my screen either.

Any more ideas??

As I understand it, that's just what you want to call your main hard-drive
(ie. "Box_O_Rubbish", etc.) You should be able to leave it blank, or for
safety, just call it "C" (as in "C drive").

Look at the drive in My Computer. It has it's volume name next to the drive letter label. If the volume label is blank the text is Local Drive else it's the volume label..

type in whatever it is already called!
