Hello friends!

Nothing may be "fool-proof"....but when I send outgoing
emails....I do not want my last name disclosed....nor do
I want any personal information disclosed.

Are there programs available within Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition to accomplish this?

Also, what simple programs can I download to assure the
maximum amount of privacy and security on my family's
home computer?

MUST I spend additional money for adequate privacy and
security?

Thease issues are most important to my family.

Thank you. We appreciate your technical support and input.

RONALD

Just don't enter your last name in the e-mail program.

Just don't enter any information you don't want disclosed
in your e-mail program.

Make sure you have an anti-virus program and a personal
firewall installed, and simply don't enter any
information you don't want disclosed.

Further expanding on his post there are alot of free tools for a user to
download.

First of is a free anti virus. There's 3 but the main one right now is AVG
from http://www.grisoft.com
The other two are Antivir and avast. Now AVG is free, but it's not the best
in the world you get what you pay for, but it's not worthless either. If
you have no anti virus currently download this thing now.

Second up are the free firewall. There's so many of them. My personal
favorite is kerio, but there's also zonalarm(Which is way easier to set up
for a novice), sygate, and Tiny firewall. In most cases the free firewalls
are every bit as good as the pay ones you buy at the store, there is no need
to pay for a firewall.

Third up are the spyware searches. There are two excellent and free
programs that fight spyware. Ad Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. Ad
aware is here http://www.lavasoftusa.com and Spybot is here
http://www.security.kolla.de. I recommend getting both as they make
excellent doublechecks to each other.

And lastly what David is getting at is your computer only knows what you
tell it. Like my email address doesn't say my name because I told it not
to. My login isn't my name. Windows doesn't know who I am. If you never
tell windows your peronal information it can never get out so take measure
when you set up programs to only give it the information you want.
