Is there a way of resetting the privacy on a user account.

I,m looking for a way other than using the user account under control panel.

I have a system that is totally corrupt and I re-installed the OS. Now when
ever I go to the user's Documents - they are locked.

thx

Do you mean that you get "Access Denied" messages? If so, google "Take
Ownership XP" and you'll find links to the KB articles with directions for
regaining access. The method varies for Home and Pro.

If this is XP Pro and if there was encryption involved, you also need the
backed-up account certificates. If those don't exist, chances are the data
is permanently lost.
