''Printto'' option, what's this for?

I was adjusting some settings (tinkering again), and I noticed my .txt and .doc files (and, I presume, my .rtf and .wri files, although I didn't bother to check them) have a ''Printto'' command (Folder Options>File Types>Advanced), which appear related to the right click menus for these files types. I don't recognize all the switches present, and I notice that the ''Printto'' command does not appear on the right click menu.

I have no idea what I'm looking at here. What is this? What's if for? Why doesn't it appear on my right click menus?

It's only for dragging a doc onto a printer. Which is why it doesn't appear on menus. Print is the menu entry.

Understood; thanks.
