When ever I hit the print screen button nothing happens
I was wondering if their is a way to test the keyboard or
maybe a set up or somthing. I have a sony vaio with
windows XP.

Hi

Try this way

1. Press the Print Screen Key
2. Press the Start/All Programs/Accessories/Pain
3. Press the Edit Tab and then click Past
4. You can now print it or save the file and then you can print it at any time

hey thanks for the help. One more question though can i
hit the print screen and then later do step 2 like if i
were in the middle of a game and wanted to save the screen
shot i hit print screen and then after the game do 2-3-4

the print screen command saves a copy of the screen
(screenshot) to the windows clipboard, the same as when
you cut/copy. As with cut and copy, the contents of the
clipboard are erased when a) the computer is turned off
b) you cut or copy some other information c) you
hit "print screen"again. In order to save the picture for
future use, you must paste it into a document and "save
as" just as you would with any other data.So yes, you can
hit print screen then paste and save it later - just
don't copy anything else in the meantime. As a matter of
interest, you can just capture the active window (if you
don't want the whole screen) by pressing "ALT+PRTSCRN"

Greetings --

Pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display to the
clipboard. Pressing <ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to
the clipboard (iow, into RAM). To view the screen capture, open a
graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press <CTRL>+V. This will
paste the contents of the clipboard (your screenshot) into the open
file, and allow you to view it or save it as a file for later use.
