I want to print as a Portrait only the part of the Worksheet in Excel that
is shown on the screen.
How do I arrange that, because at present the printer produces the whole
worksheet, which has many hundred lines?

I have a "Freeze Panes" activated on the worksheet, so that I can scroll up
the data
that I am not working on under the headings and out of view.

If I wanted to highlight the area I want printed when I click on the topmost
left hand cell just one line above
the headings and start highlighting the data which was hidden from view and
which I do not want to print, scrolls down of its own accord.

Is there a way of printing only the data shown on the screen in these
circumstances?

Assuming row 1 is "frozen" so your titles(header row) stays visible.

Assuming you scroll down and rows 46 to 86 are visible and rows 2 to 45 have
scrolled up under row 1.

Select row 2 to row 45 and Format>Hide.

Select the print area down to row 86 including row 1. The hidden rows will
not print.
