Hi,
I am running Home Premium that came on my Toshiba laptop. I have a Konica
Minolta PP1400W laser printer , with their Vista driver installed. I am
running it with USB. It will print a windows test page with "run as
administrator", but will not print from applications. If I turn off user
account control per Konica Minolta tech support, it will print everytime.
They are blaming this on Microsoft???? I should have to turn off UAC to
print.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Jim

The problem is with the printer driver. If you have to turn UAC off to get
it to print it is not compatible with Vista. Whose fault this is depends on
your point of view. For many reasons Microsoft changed the way drivers work
in Vista. From Microsoft's point of view the fault is with the driver. It
needs to be re-written to work with Vista. From Konica's point of view
Microsoft broke their driver by changing the way drivers work in Vista. It
doesn't really matter whose fault it is. Until Konica re-writes their driver
it won't work properly in Vista. Turning off UAC is not an acceptable
solution. It compromises your security.

UAC = User Account Control
