Good morning everyone !

Hope someone can help me, here's my problem.

I have 4 stations on my network ,all are running win XP
Pro.They access a server on site 2 (Running server 2003)
via remote desktop, the conection is established
perfectly,I can browse the network ,and access everything
I need to,here is my problem...2 of the stations on the
network can see their printers once they are connected to
the server the other 2 cannot.

I have also tried connecting to the 2003 server using VPN
first, and then connecting with remote desktop, but the
problem persists.

P.S.: And yes, the box in the local ressources that
allows printers to be seen once connected is checked.

I would appreciate any help you can throw at me to try
and resolve this problem.

Thanks !
Michel

There are several places to look for clues about this behavior:

Read this:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q302361

If this does not apply (i.e. the printers in question are not connected via
USB with a port name of DOT4xx) then there should be messages in the Server
event log about not being able to find a driver for the particular printers.

On a Server, this article may apply:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;239088

There are several things to do before doing the INF editing mentioned in the
article, though. One is to be sure the client is using the RDP client for
Windows Server 2003. Another is to update the driver at the client machine
to the newest available from the manufacturer--this may help match the names
between the client side and the server.

Much more (and probably better) information, available here:
