Why can't I see the fax as a printer option in these two programs

I can print to fax in all other programs

As the printer screen is coming up, I see (for a fraction of a second) the printer icons, then all I get is the default printer as my only choice

Another XP pro machine in the same office allows faxing from these programs.

Use the Print Preview menu choice. The Print function then brings
up the Printer dialog where you can select a printer. Some Outlook
items cannot be Print Previewed. Bear in mind that if you use a
dialup connection, the fax modem will be unavailable while you are
online.

When you use Print Preview in Internet Explorer, the printer
selected becomes stick during that same session. It reverts to the
default printer when you close that Internet Explorer window and all
child windows. Windows opened before the change and which were
still open during the change will still use the default printer.

I changed "stick" to "sticky" in my original reply. It's the
post-send spellchecker at work.
