I'm trying to eliminate unnecessary and possible spyware items from my
msconfig Startup and Services lists. One thing I want to do is to
print the list as-is before I start to tweak it. The window is so
small and there is no full screen option for the window. Plus I can
not select the text and copy/paste it to a notebook page. I can do
individual screen shots, but there has to be a better way. Does anyone
know of a way to print the lists in the Services and Startup windows,
or enlarge the small display window to full screen so I can do a
single screenshot?

Thanks in advance..

For whatever reason, the window can't be stretched or converted to text.
There's probably third-party software that can print the contents of
that tab, but by the time you finish searching for it, installing it,
setting it up...it will be faster to do printscreens.

Some tips:

1- There must be a gazillion programs available on the internet that
display what starts with your computer - the Startup tab only shows you
certain registry keys.

2- You can't defeat malware by editing through the System Configuration
Utility. Malware is too crafty to be defeated that way. You need true
malware removal software to even stand a chance at removing malware. If
you're already infected your options become limited.

3- The System Configuration Utility was designed for troubleshooting. If
you really want to prevent something from starting with Windows it's
best to go through the program's options or seek advice from the
program's technical support.

4- Before you consider removing anything, make sure you understand
completely what it is you want to remove and why. Search the web.

5- Do not fall for the hype you'll find plenty of on the web about
pruning your startup objects to the bone. It sounds so macho...but it
may eventually come back to bite you in the behind. Common sense always
trumps bravado.

Try "Autoruns.exe".
In the "View" menu, choose what is to appear in the output.
When the scan is complete, save the scan results to a text file
via "File" menu > "Save as...".

Download:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx
- Scroll down and click "System Information"
- Under "Sysinternals System Information Utilities"
- click "Autoruns"
